Marriage counseling and couples coaching

Two therapists and relationship coaches, married to each other for more than 40 years. We meet with couples and individuals in person, by video and by phone, and your first 15–20 minute call is free.

Who we are

A lifetime of helping couples, and a marriage we have worked at too

We have spent our entire adult lives helping people sort out, cope with and learn to deal with the things life brings that cause pain, resentment, hurt and distrust.

We are not only a walking example of how to make a marriage work; we are very practical with our advice, so you can see results and feel the one thing everyone longs for: hope.

More about us

Hope is a very big word, but that’s what we’re going for.

  • Yes, your marriage can be saved, if you work on it.
  • Yes, couples can survive infidelity. Again, if you work on it.
  • Yes, parenting can get easier (although your kids are with you for good, so there’s no magic there).
  • Yes, single people can find a loving, intimate, passionate love that can last a lifetime.
  • Yes, it’s all possible. It just takes effort, and that is something you can do.

How we can help

Coaching for couples, and for each of you

Sessions with the two of you, often with both of us; or time with David or Debbie on your own.

Couples coaching

Both of you, often with both of us: four people in the room, a man’s and a woman’s view, so each of you is heard and understood.

Coaching with David

Recovering after an affair, restoring a broken marriage, grief, and the big decisions and transitions of life.

Coaching with Debbie

Friendship and closeness in marriage, parenting and grown children, the empty nest, and growing older together.

How sessions, fees and video calls work

How it works

A practical, directive approach

We will not just sit, nod and ask you once in a while how you feel. We take the lead, give you clear steps, and stay with you while you take them.

  1. A free call

A 15–20 minute phone or video call. We tell you how our process works, and you come away with what you need to decide.

  2. Your story

We take the time to get to know you, understand your story and what you really want and need.

  3. A plan and practical steps

We take the lead: clear options, specific steps and, often, homework between sessions.

  4. We stay with you

You take the steps; we stay alongside, debrief what you tried and fine-tune it together.

  5. Celebrate the change

We help you notice and celebrate your successes and the change you came for.

Who we work with

Couples, and people who want their relationships to be better

Couples

Whether things have gone quiet and boring, arguments keep escalating, or trust has been broken by an affair. Or you have a good marriage and want a great one.

One partner, on your own

Wanting to make your relationship better even if your spouse is not joining in right now is a goal we can work on with you.

Parents and families

Colliding parenting styles, parenting alone in a marriage, in-laws, and letting grown children go so they have the best shot at a good future.
